She was my first teacher

My mom is kind of a superhero.

After my dad passed, she didn’t slow down. She grabbed a shovel, went outside, and started growing things. Same hands that graded papers all week, dirty with soil by the weekend. Happy as ever.

Every morning I’d watch her out there, humming, planting, laughing at her tomatoes. And every time life got hard, she’d look at me and say:

“Respect the Soil. Tend it with love. Life will return the favor with Grace.”

I wrote it on my heart. Still there.

I took the long way around

I went off into the corporate world. Big title. Fancy meetings.

Honestly? It was fine. But something kept bugging me.

My mom – retired now, still in her garden, still giving cuttings to every neighbor who walked by, was living with more joy and purpose than anyone I knew in any boardroom. She had the secret. And I had the megaphone.

So I came home. And we built this.

Why Soil & Grace?

Soil is the real stuff. The roots. The work. The getting-your-hands-dirty part that makes everything possible.
